Valentina Tereshkova said opponents of her Amendment do not love the country
Valentina Tereshkova, a State Duma deputy from “The United Russia” party, who put forward the amendment to “nullify” the presidential term, said in response to a rising wave of criticism that those who criticize this amendment do not love Russia. Meanwhile, according to field reports, the Russians express massive dissatisfaction with the behavior of Tereshkova. So, residents of the city of Artemovsk, Sverdlovsk region demanded to rename the street Tereshkova. Residents of the city of Chelyabinsk proposed renaming the park, named after the scandalous. Residents of Tutaev demand to deprive her of the title of honorary citizen of the city.
Of course, Ms. Tereshkova did not come up with the amendment to nullify the presidential term herself. This move was invented by political strategists even before the process of changing the Constitution began; this change itself was invented for the nullification, so that Putin could continue to be President. This idea itself was gradually put into circulation, introduced into the mass media consciousness throughout the entire period of discussion of the Amendments to the Constitution. Tereshkova was chosen to finally present the Amendment to public.
At the same time, Tereshkova’s statement that the opponents of the Amendment do not love Russia shows very well the essence of what is happening in the country – a slide to the right dictatorship, one of the characteristic components of which is leaderism. We see that in Russia there is a rapid onset of reaction, state policy is becoming more and more “right-wing”. Police, censorship, the actions of pogrom gangs are becoming the main ways to maintain the regime in the country. Now, those who dare to speak negatively about the President are accused of lack of patriotism. Now the country begins to be associated with the President, and the President – with the country.
This situation is beneficial to the bourgeoisie, for whom the acting President has become the guarantor of its existence. At the same time, the class essence of the state and government is obscured. On one hand, the working people will continue to rely on the Good King, whose tales will continue to be broadcast through the media. On the other hand, in the event of a severe crisis, the masses are thrown the false idea that the President is to blame for everything, and alll they have to do is to just change him to a new, good President.
