An announcement of a fundraiser for the “Warm Public Toilet” charity project in the town of Matveevka (Khabarovsk Region) appeared on the VKontakte social network. To build a toilet, you need to collect 893 thousand rubles. Activists proposed that the funds should be collected by local residents, Lenta.ru reports.

The current public restroom. Khabarovsk’s budget is 16,488 million roubles, for a population of 800,000 people.

The restrooms are being proposed to be placed in the building which houses the local post office, the medical-obstetric centre, the “house of culture” and the library. The fundraising advertisement also indicates that the building hosts Russian song ensemble classes, concerts and discos. However, this is not the only problem that the local townspeople face on a daily basis. Their repeated pleas to improve the quality of towns roads and extend the local bus route also remain unanswered. Territorially the town of Matveevka is not a remote administrative unit and is located in close proximity to the city of Khabarovsk, the capital of the region.

Collecting money from fundraising and crowdfunding has become the norm in modern society, the same tactics were applied in this case. Meanwhile, the question remains open: why is it, the central townhall style building is not equipped with the minimum necessary infrastructure in this modern 21st century?

In addition, it is proposed to raise funds by local, that is, rural residents. Given the fact that there are hardly any young people left in the countryside, it is appropriate to recall that the average pension in the Khabarovsk Territory, according to data for 2019, is 16,799 rubles.

The modern capitalist government has no money for anything other than its own luxurious life. The common working people are in the position of a drowning person, who in any trouble, is forced to save himself.
